The owners of this Wicket Hill house wanted to retain as much of the old home as possible while making the space work for a large family and frequent visitors.
The layout needed to be reconfigured to accommodate a large family, maximise thermal comfort, frame the views and create much more outdoor space.

Our solution
As local architects, we think carefully before recommending a client demolishes a functional building, in the interest of preserving resources. Early on, a decision was made to retain what was possible of the existing building and work to ensure the relationship between the old and new could serve the brief of the client.
